Joy Junction is New Mexico’s largest emergency shelter and the only emergency shelter in the state that keeps families together.
To share the spiritual and tangible love of Jesus to the homeless, hungry, marginalized and disenfranchised.
Matthew 11 : 28 | Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.
Since Joy Junction’s inception 25 years ago, we have continued our mission of mercy due to the goodness of the Lord and the generosity of the Albuquerque community. We accept no government funding.
For 25 years, Joy Junction has functioned off three main principles:
1) Donations only – Joy Junction accepts no government funds, and is not a United Way member. Everything is provided by a combination of God’s graces and the generosity of committed supporters.
2) Everyone and anyone – Joy Junction provides services to anyone in need, regardless of race, religion, gender and orientation.
3) Families first – Joy Junction is the only shelter in the state, as well as crossing surrounding borders, that when a family arrives they are kept together.
Joy Junction help’s as many as 300 guests a night, of which 70-80 are children.
Including the Lifeline of Hope outreach to Albuquerque’s most vulnerable, Joy Junction’s kitchen produces around 16,000 meals a month.
